CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY STARTS WITH US ALL

about mycitycare

By donating to MyCityCare, you are helping local families put food on the table, bringing comfort to our most vulnerable and providing hope to those who may feel hopeless. MyCityCare supports the community through donation and aid programs throughout the entire year and is available in all our locations as well as outside of our campuses.

Ongoing projects

Food is Non-Negotiable

Food insecurity is still a leading need in our communities, both locally and globally. Partnering with existing food banks and agencies, we provide emergency support, food hampers, food programs and community initiatives to assist those with food insecurity.

Shelter is Key

Shelter is one of the most influential factors in moving people out of a life of poverty and risk, and into a sustainable living situation. In partnership with Not4Sale, we create safe homes for those exiting the sex trade and impacted by human trafficking.

Clothing is Essential

Clothing is tied to human dignity, often linked to our identity and expression, job placement and careers. We provide access to free clothing stores, pop-up events, giveaways and operate a mobile unit to help alleviate this need in our local communities.

Water is Life

Did you know there are people in Canada with no access to drinking water? One of the things requested most by those at risk is water. We currently provide clean drinking water through our downtown outreach programs.

Health is Everything

Without good health and hygiene, other supports are insignificant. We actively look for ways to promote healthy communities. From COVID-19 emergency relief to hygiene kits, we provide essentials for good health.

Justice is Freedom

Through our partnership with Not4Sale, we are creating local and global programming and initiatives to help rescue and restore those impacted by human trafficking.

FAQs

Where can I make a donation?

Donations can be made at any time through our website. Physical donations such as food or clothing can be dropped off at campus locations and partnering community drop box locations. For a list of local drop-off locations near you, contact your local MyCityCare team for more information.

How do I register for a program or receive help?

Registrations for programs can be done online through our website for most seasonal programs such as Shop of Wonders, The Cinderella Project and Stuff the Bus across our campus locations. Choose a location near you and a local MyCityCare representative will connect with you to follow up with campus-specific information. MyCityCare does not require proof of income, identification or qualifying requirements to receive help. Each request is taken on a case-to-case basis and some locations may require additional questions or follow-up.

How can I get involved?

Select the site nearest you and fill out an online connect card. Choose MyCityCare as your serving department. A MyCityCare representative from your nearest location will contact you in regards to upcoming volunteering opportunities.

Not4Sale

We are dedicated to stopping and preventing child trafficking. We will stand up for their rights to be children; to be free and innocent. We will be the voice when theirs have been silenced. We will continue to fight for them, as long as we have to. Let’s end child trafficking and exploitation together.
