Thank you for your generosity and partnership. Below are answers to common questions about giving across the Parallel Network, including Parallel Church, MyCityCare, Not4Sale, Microchurches, and our partner ministries.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Do I need to create an account to give?
No. You may give without creating an account. However, creating an account allows you to:
- Autofill your giving details
- View your giving history
- Update personal information
- Manage recurring gifts
How do I log into my Donor account?
- Log into your Parallel Church Donor Portal
- Log into your MyCityCare Donor Portal
- Log into your Not4Sale Donor Portal
How do I access my donor-saved information from the donation page?
On your mobile: click the 3 bars on the left side (beside the ministry logo) to access the login button
On your computer: click login button on top right side of web page.
GENERAL GIVING
How can I give?
You can give online through our secure giving pages using your credit card, Visa-enabled debit card or through your bank account via direct debit (ACSS).
Depending on the ministry, you may choose to give a one-time gift or set up monthly recurring giving.
For clarity and proper receipting, we encourage donors to give directly through the giving page of the specific ministry or location they wish to support:
- Parallel Church – Campus and general giving
MyCityCare – Community care initiatives and locations - Not4Sale – Justice and anti-exploitation initiatives
- Microchurches – Specific microchurch locations.
- Partner ministries – As listed on their respective pages

Why do different ministries use separate giving systems?
- Different ministries within the Parallel Network use separate giving systems to ensure clarity, proper receipting, and accurate fund designation. This structure allows each ministry to steward resources responsibly while maintaining financial transparency and accountability.
Can I give to MyCityCare or Not4Sale through Parallel Church?

Yes. You may give to MyCityCare or Not4Sale through Parallel Church by selecting the appropriate designation on our church giving page.
We encourage donors to give directly through each ministry’s giving page when possible. Giving directly allows that ministry to steward your gift clearly and communicate updates and impact related to their work.
Whether you give through Parallel Church or directly through the ministry, your gift will be used for the purpose you select.

Can I set up recurring giving?

Yes. Monthly giving can be set up through our online giving system. Recurring gifts help provide stability and ongoing support for ministry and community care.

Can I give anonymously?

Yes. You may choose to give anonymously. Please note that for tax receipting purposes, we must still collect the required information associated with your gift.

DESIGNATED GIVING
Can I give to a specific campus, ministry, or program?
Yes. You may designate your gift to a specific campus or ministry, including MyCityCare, Not4Sale, Microchurches, Esther Home, Uvita Christian Academy, Night to Shine, Shop of Wonders, and other initiatives as listed.
How is my designated gift used?
- We are committed to honouring donor intent. Designated gifts are used for the ministry or initiative selected at the time of giving.
What happens if a project becomes fully funded?

If a designated project or initiative becomes fully funded or cannot be completed, funds may be redirected to a similar ministry need within the same area of impact. This ensures your generosity continues to serve its intended purpose responsibly.

Recurring Giving & Account Management
How do I update or cancel my recurring gift?
If you have created an account in our giving system, you can log in to manage your recurring gift, update payment information, or make changes.

I recently set up recurring giving in our previous system. What should I do?
- We recently transitioned to a new giving system. Recurring gifts from the previous system do not automatically transfer. Please set up your recurring giving using the link below and either update your previous giving information in Planning Center Online or email us to confirm that recurring giving has been disabled in the previous system.
Can I set up my giving to come out on specific days of the month, like the 1st & 15th?

Yes. Simply set up two separate recurring giving transactions.

Tax Receipts (Canada)
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes. Charitable gifts made to eligible ministries within the Parallel Network are tax-receiptable according to Canadian charitable regulations.
When are tax receipts issued?
- Annual tax receipts are typically issued in early January for the previous calendar year.
Can I access my giving history?

If you have created an account in our giving system, you can log in to view your giving history at any time.
Please note: as we transition to the new giving software, your 2025 historical data may not be 100% accurate as there is a delay in manually reentering all December gifts into the new system. However your year end receipt is correct and reflects all giving for 2025.

What information is required for a tax receipt?

We require your full legal name and mailing address to issue a tax receipt. Year end receipt links are sent via your email. Please ensure your contact information is accurate when giving.

Security & Privacy
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Online giving is processed through a secure platform that uses industry-standard encryption and security protocols.
Do you store my credit card information?
- Payment information is securely processed by our giving provider. We do not store full credit card information internally.
How is my personal information used?

We use your information solely for receipting, communication related to your giving, and ministry updates. We do not sell or share donor information with outside organizations.

Can I opt out of communications?

Yes. You may unsubscribe from general communications at any time. If you prefer to limit communication to emergency updates and tax receipts, please let us know.

Partner Ministries & International Giving
Do you directly operate all the ministries listed?
Some ministries are operated directly by the Parallel Network. Others, such as certain international partners, like Esther House and Uvita Christian School are supported through trusted partnerships.
How are partner ministries vetted?
- We seek alignment in mission, accountability, and integrity when supporting partner ministries. We maintain regular communication and oversight appropriate to the nature of the partnership.
Are gifts to partner ministries tax-receiptable?

Yes, when given through the Parallel Network’s registered charitable structure, gifts are receipted in accordance with Canadian regulations.

Event & Campaign Giving
Can I give to a specific event like Night to Shine or Shop of Wonders?
Yes. Event-specific giving pages allow you to support a particular initiative or location.
What happens if donations exceed the needs of an event?
- Depending on the designation, event donations that exceed immediate needs may have remaining funds applied to similar ministry initiatives within the same area of impact. Certain designations are held in reserve for future use. If you would like more information about a specific designated fund, please contact us.
Are gifts to partner ministries tax-receiptable?

Yes, when given through the Parallel Network’s registered charitable structure, gifts are receipted in accordance with Canadian regulations.

Legacy & Estate Giving
Can I include the ministry in my will?
Yes. If you are interested in legacy or estate giving, please contact us for more information. We would be honoured to speak with you confidentially.
